Tunku Kurshiah College (TKC) is the first fully residential girls' school in Malaysia. TKC was awarded with the Sekolah Berprestasti Tinggi or High Performance School, a title awarded to the schools in Malaysia that have met stringent criteria including academic achievement, strength of alumni, international recognition, network and linkages.
TKC has shown outstanding achievements both academically and in co-curricular activities. In 2000, TKC was chosen as one of the schools to participate in Malaysia Smart Schools flagship application of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC). The school is the first batch of Cluster Schools which granted itself autonomy to select its own students in 2007. The school niche areas are student leadership, English proficiency and research and development (R&D). Three years later, in 2010, the school again has been selected to be among the first High Performing Schools (Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi, SBT). The school moved to its new premise in Bandar Enstek, Nilai in January 2013.
Entry into Tunku Kurshiah College is based mainly on a student's performance in the Primary School Assessment Examination (UPSR) conducted by the Ministry of Education, for Standard 6 pupils. Only those who obtained 5As in this examination and participated actively in co-curricular activities stand a good chance to gain an entry.
The selection is made by the Residential School Unit, Ministry of Education. Please get the form form the primary schools. TKC has been recognised as a High Performance School (Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi) in the early of the year 2015.
